Chief Environmental Officer

Mr. Niranjan Shrestha is the Founder of Environmental Services Nepal (ESN) and provides the overall leadership to ESN as Chief Environmental Officer (CEO). He has provided environmental expertise service to various government bodies and local governments of Nepal, international/non governmental organization, bilateral agencies, multi lateral banks like ADB, World Bank and UN agencies like UNDP. Mr. Shrestha, by profession trained as an Environmental Engineer in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, has substantial consulting experience in environmental sector which ranges from transportation, energy, urban development, disaster management, irrigation, agriculture, local infrastructures, eco-tourism, capacity building to policy formulation and analysis.

Involved Projects

Founder/Chief Environmental Officer/Environmental Specialist (2011 –  )

  • Provided overall leadership to ESN, completed more than 200 environmental assessments, study and research assignments related to road and bridge construction, hydropower generation and transmission, water supply and sewerage, urban development, agriculture and others in Nepal and one international assignment in Cambodia.
  • Environment Specialist, provided environmental expertise (assessment and monitoring) to assignments undertaken by ESN, among which are:
    • More than 50 hydropower, solar and transmission line projects
    • More than 20 bridge and road projects
    • More than 20 natural resource management, sand, gravel collection, forestry related projects

  1.
