IEE study of Teku Bridge over Bagmati river

Introduction

Narrative description of the Project: Construction of a motorable bridge over Bagmati River 30m downstream below confluence point of Bagmati and Bishnumati river. This bridge will join Kuleshwor area of Kathmandu Metropolitan with Sanepa/Sanchal area of Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan. The bridge will be connected with Bagmati Corridor link road at the left side and Bishnumati link road at right side.

The total length of the proposed RCC Bridge over the Bagmati Bridge River is 75 m. The bridge is proposed with double lane with estimated width of the carriage way at 7.5 m with kerb on both side. The proposed design of the bridge is simply supported RCC T-Beam Bridge of 20 m effective span with RCC deck slab for prevailing design loads and site conditions.

Description of Actual Service Provided: Preparation of Terms of Reference (ToR) and Report on Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) study, which includes:

(a) Preparation and approval of ToR for IEE study of Teku Bride over Bagmati river in Kathmandu, (b) baseline data collection of biophysical, socio-economic as well as cultural environment, (c) public consultation, (d) Preparation of draft and final IEE report of entire projects, presentation of the report in the Ministry, (e) incorporation of comments and approval of the report from the concerned government line agencies (Ministry of Physical Planning, Works and Transport Management MoPITM).
