Introduction

Narrative description of the Project: Local Road Bridge Programme/Local Bridge Section under Department of Local Infrastructure and Agricultural Road (DoLIDAR) have proposed the motorable bridge over Chauri Khola to connects Kattike Deurali VDc ward no. 9 of Kavre district and Gunsi VDC ward no. 2 of  Ramechhap district. LRBP is financed by Government of Nepal whereby Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has provided the technical assistance to improve the access services and opportunities and strengthen the capacities of national and local institutions in bridge sector. The bridge construction programme launched throughout the country including all development region.

This proposed bridge is 50.55 m in length having carriage way width and total width of 4.25 m. the bridge has RCC type piers and abutments and Neoprene Pad type of bearings. The foundation type of the bridge is RC Spread foundation and RC Well foundation. In order to carry the Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) for the project, DoLIDAR is a responsible executing body.

Description of Actual Service Provided: Preparation of Report on Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) study, which includes:

(a) baseline data collection of biophysical, socio-economic as well as cultural environment, (b) public consultation, (b) Preparation of draft and final IEE report of entire projects, presentation of the report in the Ministry, (b) incorporation of comments and approval of the report from the concerned government line agencies (Ministry of Local Development, MoLD)
