An Eastern Township Development Project is a concept initiated by the three municipalities that refers essentially to smaller independent settlements which are located away from the existing metropolitan or core city areas. Eastern Township Development is mainly developed to accommodate the population growth while preserving open space and farmlands. These newly formed municipalities initiated this project.

Eastern Township Development Project has envisioned an Eastern Township Development area which is green and vibrant. The envisioned  Eastern Township Development area is generally associated with the use of information and communication technology (ICT) to better deliver public utilities, improve transport and mobility, reduce carbon footprint, and enhance urban governance;  ultimately, improving the quality of life of people in the cities.
