IEE study of Giri Khola Mini Hydopower Project
Introduction
Narrative description of the Project:
Jalpa Devi Gramin Shahakri Sanstha Limited proposed implementation of 200KW Giri Khola Mini Hydro project, with the design discharge 0.47 m3/s and 61.1m gross head that will generate 200KW of electric energy. The project consists of headworks with a weir across the river to divert flow, headrace with penstock pipe as a water conveyance system, and surface powerhouse on the left bank of Giri Khola.
Description of Actual Service Provided: Preparation of Report on Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) study, which includes: (a) Preparation and approval of IEE study of 200 KW Hydoelectric Project in Jumla, (b) baseline data collection of biophysical, socio-economic as well as cultural environment, (c) public consultation, (d) Preparation of draft and final IEE report of entire projects, (e) incorporation of comments from AEPC and ADB.
